Initial Assessment
60 to 90 minute assessment
Service Description
The first visit is all about getting to know your pet and creating a custom plan to help them feel better. Here's what to expect: Health History Review The rehab therapist will ask about your pet’s medical history, past injuries, surgeries, and current symptoms. Physical Exam Your pet’s muscles, joints, movement, posture, and flexibility will be assessed to spot any pain or weakness. Utilizing a stance analyzer allows the therapist a collection of objective data that determines how much weight your pet is placing on each limb. The therapist is able to notate possible lameness during the initial visit and keep track of progress in future visits. Mobility Assessment Your pet may walk, sit, or do simple movements so the therapist can evaluate how they move and where they need support. Goal Setting We'll discuss goals—whether it’s pain relief, improved mobility, post-surgery recovery, or better quality of life. Treatment Plan Based on the exam, a personalized treatment plan will be created. This might include exercises, massage, underwater treadmill, laser therapy, or other techniques.
