Palliative Care
Rehab modalities aid by reducing pain, improving mobility, and enhancing quality of life.
Service Description
Pain Management Therapeutic exercises, laser therapy, massage, and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) have been shown to reduce musculoskeletal pain in pets. These non-pharmacologic methods support or reduce the need for medications, especially in older or compromised patients. Improved Mobility and Function Rehab delays muscle atrophy, preserves joint flexibility, and maintains strength — crucial for pets with cancer, arthritis, or neurologic disease. Enhanced Quality of Life Rehab promotes engagement, reduces anxiety, and allows pets to perform meaningful activities (e.g., going outside, eating comfortably). It supports the biopsychosocial model of care — treating the whole pet, not just the disease. Support for Caregivers Owners report feeling empowered and more connected through active participation in rehab plans. This emotional benefit contributes to overall palliative goals — quality of life for both pet and family.
